Trauma-informed care, sometimes called trauma- and violence-informed care, is an approach to supporting people who have been affected by dangerous experiences, significant loss, or abuse. It focuses on understanding how trauma shapes behavior and prioritizes safety, respect, and connection in the healing process.
Legend Counseling is committed to providing trauma-informed care to the young men we serve. Our work centers on safety, choice, collaboration, trust, and empowerment. We also recognize the importance of cultural, historical, and gender-related factors in each client’s experience. Care is client-centered and grounded in evidence-based practices, with referrals made when a young man would benefit from more specialized support.
